STAFF & ASSOCIATES

 

Anita E. Ramirez, CHCC, President, has over 35 years experience in health care management. She has provided services to physicians in analyzing existing practices, identifying and rectifying problem areas, and new practice start-ups.

Ms. Ramirez has also functioned in the trenches as a clinic administrator overseeing marketing, personnel, finance and administrative operations.

Ms. Ramirez has a proven track record for turning around unprofitable and disorganized medical practices by introducing proper management procedures; formulating and implementing a marketing plan, which significantly increased client base and improved image and good will; writing and installing policies and procedures, job descriptions, and personnel manuals; improving employee morale through staff training programs and reorganization of employee compensation programs. Ms. Ramirez attended a comprehensive training workshop conducted by Healthcare Compliance Resources on compliance programs, took the comprehensive examination and earned the certification for a Certified Healthcare Compliance Consultant in 2001.

Mrs. Ramirez is a recognized leader in the community. She is listed in the 1989 Who's Who of Women Executives, the 1997 International Who's Who of Professionals and in the 1976 Outstanding Young Women of America. Throughout her career she has held numerous civic and social organization presidencies in the greater Tampa area, such as: President, South Tampa Chamber of Commerce; President of the Gulf Coast Executive Women in Health Care, President, National Association for Female Executives; President, Mental Health Association Board of Directors; President, President of ACTS Board of Directors; and President of Network of Executive Women. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay, Inc.

Ms. Ramirez has been featured in several local and national publications and has appeared on many local television programs. She is also on the adjunct faculty of Hillsborough Community College since 1976 teaching courses on medial office practices and procedures, office automation, supervision, leadership training and customer service.

John Peake, Computer Specialist, has over 10 years experience in computer equipment and software support. He provides custom programming to meet client's specialized needs and supplemental support to other computer dealers across the country. He specializes in medical manager software.

Aleida Rios, has over 20 years experience in health care management. She has a degree in computer science form the University of South Florida School of business. Ms. Rios has vast experience in running physician practices and as a practice consultant. She was responsible for running the first managed care company in Florida and has negotiated numerous contracts with major insurance companies for her clients. Ms. Rios is certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Dan Ramirez, With over forty years of experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Contract Management and Sales Dan has the capability to help the Physician’s Practice in several areas that will insure the Office is productive and efficient. With his extensive background in training employees for various business entities Dan is now the Recruitment Specialist for AER and as such will provide your practice with the necessary in depth capability that will insure the right compatibility of applicants to the position you are seeking to employ. Dan shall provide you with the full service needed to be successful by advertising, screening, doing background checks, OIG verifications and scheduling of interviews and if requested assisting in the interview process. Thereby he will provide the Physician with the appropriate questions designed to illicit the applicant’s desired responses for the optimum interview.

Darlene Migliore, With twenty seven years of experience in the Healthcare Industry she is an expert in the Coding, Billing and Collections arenas for both the Hospital environment and the Physician’s Practice. Darlene’s vast knowledge of the insurance industry and it’s requirements and regulations with the emphasis on the Medicare and Managed Care Plans allows for the optimum operational posture for the Practice. She has been very active within the State of Florida as well as nationwide in the healthcare field and has thereby worked with several Physicians crossing a multitude of specialties in the Medical field.

Carol Norman, Carol has over twenty years experience in the business of healthcare specializing but not limited to customer relations, problem solving, organization, sales and creative marketing/ She is extremely proficient in the Banking industry having worked in various aspects of the industry for over seventeen years. Carol is invaluable to the Practice in the administrative oversight, management, human resources and financial budgeting and procedures. As coach and personnel instructor Carol has established a reputation for client satisfaction and business enhancement thereby creating an atmosphere of trust and team spirit for a successful Practice.

Jenee Martin Adkins, Jenee has seventeen years experience in Physician coding, billing and is a reimbursement specialist certified in CPT, HCPCHS and ICD coding. She is also credentialed by the AHIMA and AAPC nationally which is a professional association which has less than five per-cent of the coders accredited nationwide. She has extensive coding and auditing capabilities and is an  accomplished public speaker as well as seminar host on coding and reimbursements. Jenee is also an instructor at the college level and was a Board member of Dupage College of Health information program and the Chicago Area Health information program. With excellent customer service skills and her follow up capabilities will insure optimum performance in he Physician’s practice. Jenee is proficient in the Physician revenue cycle with a vast knowledge of medicare guidelines and reimbursement policies and procedures. She is also a member of the American Health Information Management Association, American Association of Professional Coders, the Florida Health Information Management Association and the Illinois Health Information Management Association.

Becky Norwood, Becky has over twenty years experience in the Healthcare Industry in the central and southwest regions of Florida and specializes in negotiations of contracts with Ancillary Providers for the sole practitioner or group Physician’s clinics as well as managed care contract assessement and credentialing. Becky is a member of the Suncoast Healthcare Executives Association and her knowledge of contracting and office procedures will provide the Practice with the optimum contract possible.

Chandra Moesle Price, a versatile creative director with many years of combined experiences in the news, litigation, and marketing disciplines. She offers customized communications material with compelling content which has been embraced by the business community from Tampa to Los Angeles. Chandra offers top quality materials and on demand creativity for many small business clients, large corporations and government agencies with said projects ranging from promotional items to web sites to book editing and strategic public relations campaigns. Chandra’s affiliates include South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Hillsbrough County Public Schools, Tampa Independent Business Alliance, City of Tampa Small Business Enterprise, Tampa Women’s Business Enterprise and the Writers and Editors Network.

Amy L. Ramirez, Amy has a degree in the Organizational and Interpersonal Communications field from the University of South Florida and has ten years experience in the healthcare industry. She is proficient in Credentialing and Contracting for physicians with various managed care companies from the inception through finalization. Amy provides physician practice assessments that include accounts receivable, EOB, and fee scheduling reviews as well as work flow observations of how the work is best processed for the Physician. With her knowledge of various office and industry software products as well as her ability to train staff makes her a valuable team member for any practice.

Gloria Seaton, Dynamic professional with over ten years experience of Medical Practice accounts payable and receivables. Her vast knowledge of the healthcare industry makes Gloria a proficient in streamlining work flow and in the organization of policies and procedures as well as staff training thereby making the practice productive in commercial and federal collections. She allows the practice to be more efficient with the work flow to insure that payments are received in a timely manner which optimizes the office cash flow.

Cheryl White, a coding and billing expert she performs chart audits to assure compliance with HIPAA’s rules and regulations. Her expertise assures the Physician with the proper procedures that will provide the practice with optimum cash flow and efficient office policies and procedures. 

Colin Ball Shalin, CCAT / CPAT

Colin received his BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and is a

Certified Clinical Account Technician (CCAT) and a Certified Patient Account Technician (CPAT) through the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM). Colin’s diverse experience in healthcare, information systems, and accounting enables him to assist clients to streamline their operational processes, increase efficiencies and revenues, and reduce costs. Techniques utilized to achieve these goals include task automation, process improvements, accounts receivable turnaround management, and employee education/training. His healthcare background includes more than twenty years of reimbursement and accounts receivable management for private physician offices and groups, outpatient rehabilitation, home health, and hospital facilities, including a Level I Trauma Center. His experience encompasses all reimbursement methodologies and payer types. Additionally, his information systems experience includes departmental oversight and system needs assessment, selection, development, integration, end-user training, and implementation. Colin also has extensive skills in financial/systems analysis and internal auditing in an array of medical practice environments. Colin is a noted Speaker and has been in many seminar’s as well as publishing articles in the RBMA Bulletin (National) – Billing column, Florida Medical Business Journal (Florida) – regular Curbside Consult contributor, and the Pinellas County Medical Association Magazine (Pinellas County). Colin is a member in good standing in AAHAM, RBMA, and MGMA.
